ABOUT PEMAKO FARM

Pemako is a magical 25-acre farm in the Marahau village in the Tasman region, Top of the South Island, New Zealand. The babbling waters of the Marahau River create a natural farm boundary to the North, and the ever-present vistas of the shimmering hills of the Abel Tasman National Park are awe-inspiring.

The Farm is only 2 km from the entrance to the National Park, yet being secluded up the Marahau Valley creates a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the busy beachfront. The cacophony of birdsong and the meditative hum of the River waters will be your symphony.

Features of the Farm, which guests are encouraged to explore, include a bamboo forest, trails through native Kanuka trees, infinite secluded spots along the River just perfect for a refreshing dip on a hot summer’s day, a quaint stream that runs the length of the Farm, copious native bird life, and our equestrian friends that are always keen for a cuddle.

The farm is a short 5-minute drive by car, or an enjoyable 15 minute bike ride on bikes provided, from the start of the Abel Tasman track; Kaiteriteri Beach is a 20-minute drive away; Motueka is 30 minutes by car; Nelson City and Airport just over an hour by car; and the Takaka township and Golden Bay also an hour journey by car.
